AQUA BARRIERA NANO SMART

AQUA BARRIERA NANO SMART

Two component cement based mortar, flexible down to -20 ̊C, with crack bridging capacity over 2 mm, for waterproofing balconies, terraces, bathrooms and swimming pools.

Advantages

• Remains flexible at very low temperatures (-20°C).
• CE-certified product in compliance with EN 14891.
• Protects the surface of concrete from CO2 penetration (carbonation).
• Resistant to UV rays.
• 2.5 mm of AQUA BARRIERA represents the equivalent of 30 mm of concrete against the aggressive action of chlorides (w/c ratio 0.45).
• May also be applied on existing coverings.
• Compatible with ceramic, mosaic and natural stone coverings.

Quick Reference Guide

Substrate Preparation:
  • Ensure substrates are clean, solid, and free from contaminants.
  • Pre-wet absorbent surfaces slightly before application.
  • For heavily compromised substrates, mechanical abrasion or hydro-demolition is recommended.
Mixing Instructions:
  • Combine Component B (liquid) with Component A (powder).
  • Mix thoroughly using a low-speed mechanical mixer to avoid air entrainment until a homogeneous, lump-free mixture is achieved.
Application Guidelines:
  • Apply within 60 minutes after mixing.
  • Two-coat application: first skim coat followed by a second coat (minimum total thickness: 2 mm).
  • Incorporate alkali-resistant reinforcement mesh for areas subject to higher stress or existing minor cracks.
  • Allow 4-5 hours between coats.
  • Protect from rain and water for at least 24 hours post-application.
Consumption Rates:
  • Manual application: approx. 1.7 kg/m² per mm thickness.
  • Spray application: approx. 2.2 kg/m² per mm thickness.
Packaging and Storage:
  • Available in combined units: 33.35 kg (A: 25 kg bag; B: 8.35 kg tank) or 16 kg units (A: 12 kg bag; B: 4 kg tank).
  • Store in a dry place at temperatures above +5°C.
  • Shelf life: Component A – 12 months; Component B – 24 months.
Ideal Applications:
  • Waterproofing concrete structures, bathrooms, balconies, terraces, and swimming pools.
  • Protection of concrete surfaces exposed to chlorides, de-icing salts, seawater, and aggressive atmospheric conditions.
